After graduating from Sir Francis Drake High School in 2015, Brody Barkan ran cross country and track at Occidental College while majoring in psychology and minoring in political science. During his time in Southern California, Barkan made an effort to build relationships with and learn from many coaches and athletes across the region and country while establishing himself as a competitive middle distance runner. In his athletic career, he helped lead the Occidental Cross Country teams to two straight NCAA berths, and was a multi All-Conference and All-Region athlete. Barkan was a conference champion in the 1500 meters and finished 11th in the country at the NCAA DIII Championship meet in that event. He was also a three-time Academic All-American.

At Occidental, Barkan served as a sportswriter and web editor for The Occidental Weekly, was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and also worked directly with professional athletes at a sports marketing firm.

Barkan is now focused on expanding his current networks and building new relationships within the NCAA landscape. Barkan resides in San Francisco and has worked with clients from all over the California spanning from Los Angeles to Marin County. He continues to run with the West Valley Track Club in SF and competes all over the country in road and trail races alike.
