Application Specialist and Lead Counselor on Swimming
After earning an IB diploma from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, Zander Granath attended Occidental College, where he graduated magna cum laude. Zander captained the Occidental NCAA men’s swim team, breaking two school records while competing for Oxy. His collegiate achievements led to his nomination as a finalist for the NCAA LGBT Athlete of the Year in 2020. Zander also conducted original research, which was published in the Harvard Kennedy School LGBTQ Policy Journal.
Zander spent all four years working in Occidental’s Office of Admission, where he had the opportunity to interview hundreds of prospective students as a senior fellow and read thousands of application essays. After graduation, Zander leveraged his insider understanding of the college application process to start college counseling, initially working with family and friends before expanding nationwide.
Now based in San Francisco, Zander remains dedicated to helping high school students and recruited swimmers navigate the complex college admissions process, ensuring they stay engaged and excited throughout.
